water and politics

let's get to basics...water is connected to every part of our lives. essential to life...it puzzles me that we can't get the basics right sometimes. mining companies dump their waste, north america puts flouride into their communities water supply when the risks far outweigh the benefits(and flouride is actually toxic waste and a byproduct of aluminium production), and much of Africa is forced to drink water that is not fit to drink. i'm drawn to water politics but it's absurd........
and that brings me to today where i went to a press conference at Queen's Park, the Ontario government building. i'm currently working with citizens for a safe environment to advocate against flouridation. for more info go to
www.flouridealert.org
i was given a book called the flouride deception by Christopher Bryson which i started to read on the way home and i'm determined to read and learn more..............

also i had coffee(organic!)with Frank De Jong and Sharon Howarth about the upcoming Green Party of Canada conference and some of the issues that are being voted on and health came up.
absurdities again how can someone be against the gov't paying for medication and then support sexual reassignment surgery? In politics you have to have to have a heart and think anyalitically and look at the complexities......i hope i can do that well as i go to vote on green party policy.

Right now i'm volunteering with 4 different organizations. Ten Thousand Villages, Green Party of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, and Citizens for a Safe Environment. I love what i'm doing but i'm not sure what to do next. Do i really need to go to school or can i just get a part time job and continue my volunteering? I think school is too much stress for me right now,but maybe in the future.
I could study social work, Environmental studies, or Volunteer management and fundraising. My Mum is a co-ordinator of volunteer services for the Canadian Cancer Society so i can talk to her about her work. Or is the answer part time work to support my volunteer work?
